Odin + RV32 support for ESP32-P4?

I’m looking at using Odin for a ESP32-P4 project. RISC-V64 is already supported so I was wondering if there are plans to support RISC-V32?

Since other 32 bit architectures are already supported, I wonder if there is a reasonably straight forward path for me to tackle the RV32 support myself?

I’m pretty sure Odin only officially supports 64bit systems.

The official implementation of Odin currently supports: amd64 , arm64 (aarch64), and wasm32 /wasm64p32 .

If you’re looking for a modern C-like that does support more architectures, microzig might be a better option (at least today).

Thank you. For some reason I was under the impression that Odin had official support for several 32bit architectures.

Ginger Bill wrote this himself when asked about embedded - “Odin already supports 32-bit and 64-bit platforms, so if your target falls in that range, you’re likely in good shape.”

Now I guess my challenge lies in figuring out what “likely in good shape” means in this context

I like Zig and it definitely has better/broader support as of now, but it just kinda gets on my nerves when I use it. 100% a ME problem!

Couldn’t agree more. I feel that Odin gets out of my way and Zig makes me work harder to get to the same place.

It’s a bit of a shame that Odin (at least currently) targets a smaller pool of devices, but on the other hand that means more effort goes into perfecting it on modern hardware!

Perhaps after Odin 2027 is released and the official spec for it ccomes out, someone will work on a more embedded friendly implementation. Only time will tell!
